U6/U8 Academy Style Program!!!

The U6 - U8 Academy at CNP is designed to give the players the basic soccer skills and foster a love of the game without the emphasis on
winning or tactics.  This program is designed to fit with the children's cognitive development and to give them the best experience they can
have.  The U6 and U8 age group, each have one main coach who plans the activities for each practice and relies on parents to help implement
them.  The practices, typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are each an hour long, and every child within the age group gets the same practice.
The practices are designed to emphasize fun and teach the players basic foot skills through fun and imaginative games.  Each practice
concentrates on one main skill with several activities designed to emphasize and teach them that skill.  The games are on Saturdays.  The
U6 group plays a 3V3 small sided game and the U8 group plays 4V4.  There is no goalie and positions on the field are not emphasized, all kids are taught the skills to play each position.  The games are designed to encourage the kids and give them confidence while allowing them to play at their own comfort levels.  The games consist of 4 - 10 minute quarters.  At half time, the parents bring drinks and snacks for the kids.  Since there are no set teams, the players are divided each game day into different teams which then scrimmage each other.  We have parent volunteers referee the game and no score is kept.  Each player
plays a minimum of 50% of each game, but will more likely play 80-90% of each game.  All the players in attendance are winners and receive a
medal at the end of the season.
